ESL: IEM SC2 America Qualifiers

This season of the Intel Extreme Masters is underway, as the first four North/South American qualifiers will be played, on every Sunday at 8:00pm EST for the next four weeks.

The regular season qualifiers are set to be played on the follow dates:

08/08/10 SUN Afternoon EST

IEM SC2 Regular Season Cup III
08/15/10 SUN Afternoon EST

IEM SC2 Regular Season Cup IV
08/22/10 SUN Afternoon EST

The top four finishers in each of these cups will move onto the group stage of the Intel Extreme Masters, along with featuring a $100 cash prize for the winner of each qualifying cup.

How does the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) work?

IEM American Championship Regular Season – August 1st-22nd, 2010 (Current Stage)
4 Online Intel Extreme Masters Cup Qualifiers each Sunday Afternoon 8pm EST with the winner getting $100.

IEM American Championship Group Stage – August 28th-29th, 2010
16 Players Qualify from the 4 IEM Cup Qualifiers with each map win worth $25 and Group Winner receiving $100.

IEM American Championship Finals – October, 2010
8 Players advance to New York City Finals from the Group Stage.

For those of you who have not been following the IEM, or ESL events, and are confused by all these events going on, maybe this video will help you at least understand the IEM (Intel Extreme Masters) a bit better.

All the European players, don't fret, ESL has the Go4SC2 cup, in which the top finishers earn a place in the IEM Gamescom SC2 tournament, featuring a whopping $15,000 in total cash prizes!
