MLG becomes official North American StarCraft 2 partner

The North American eSports hulk Major League Gaming has added StarCraft 2 to their list of games in their MLGPro Circuit. The first event will be in Raleigh, on August 27.

Major League Gaming, long-time hosts for competitions featuring Halo and World of WarCraft, has been selected as Blizzard's official North American partner.

While the tournament series will culminate at the National Championship in Dallas in November, the first tournament will be on August 27 in Raleigh. With a minimum of $5,000 prize pool, the player cap of 32 will surely be filled in no-time even with the $60 event pass needed to take part.

Although the 2010 Pro Circuit started on April 16th, and have since made two of its five stops in Orlando and Columbus, players in the United States still have upto two chances to qualify for the National Championship in Dallas, Texas from November 5th-7th.

The inaugural tournament in Raleigh will be the first chance for 32 players to qualify for the Grand Finals. The second will most likely be at National Harbor, Maryland on October 15th 2010, but MLG has not announced any details on StarCraft 2 in National Harbor as of yet.
