Blizzard has announced midnight releases of StarCraft 2 all over North America with a special event starting on July 26th 2010 at 9PM PST at Fry's Electronics in Fountain Valley, California. A special release in Singapore is announced as well with a large grand prize draw to BlizzCon 2010.
At midnight on July 27th 2010, stores all over North America will have their doors open for the midnight release of StarCraft 2. Just a few days earlier it was announced that Blizzard employees would also be present at midnight releases all over Europe as well. These employees included Dustin Browder and Chris Sigaty.
At Fry's Electronics, people will be live to witness special prize giveaways, on-stage multiplayer matches, live music, and more. Developers will be on hand to sign newly released copies as well, while supplies last.
Select North American retailers taking part in the midnight release include: Wal-Mart, BestBuy, Game Stop, and Futureshop.
Singapore Release
Brian Kindregan, lead writer for StarCraft 2, will also be hosting a release of StarCraft 2 in Singapore. Held at Funan DigitaLife Mall in Singapore, this release will be held during the day time and will also include a 3PM SGT draw where the winner takes home a grand prize of two tickets to BlizzCon 2010 (includes flight and hotel accommodations).
Activities begin at 10AM SGT with a prize draw every half-hour until the grand prize draw at 3PM.
