Many of you had probably had enough of SC2 Invitationals and are tired of seeing the same players over and over again. However, this tournament is different. It will oppose well-known players from all over the world AND four "newbies" who will get the chance to stand up to the best and prove that they got the skills to be in the competitive scene.

The tournament will feature 16 players total, 12 of which are specially invited by the organizers and the rest four will be determined by the Qualifier Round. Those four players will be matched-up against the pros in the Ro16 where they will battle tooth and nail for the victory. On your right you can see which are the 12 players that have been specially invited to participate in the GGI.

All games will be played on the US server except when another server is more convenient for both the players. The qualifier Ro64 should be concluded just at beta's end, July 19th, and due to the large number of participants the tournament should continue post launch.

Moreover, this tournament will come to be the one with the largest prize pool so far with $2600 USD of hardware and 15 T-shirts on the line, accompanied by whatever donations the organizers collect from the fans out there. The distribution of the prizes is as follows:

The post-qualifier brackets are also announced and we definitely are about to see some exciting games. The USA vs Europe vs Asia rivalry is here again so we should definitely buckle up for tons of action.


Yes, it is filled with awesomeness and undoubtedly all of us tremble in anxiety to see those final matches. However, those will be played post launch (as mentioned above) so get your patience ready.
