The previously announced, temporary closing of the Starcraft 2 beta has now been delayed. The beta will now be shut down on Monday June 7th instead of Monday May 31st. The beta will reopen following a "several week" period where the game will undergo some hardware and software configuration changes in anticipation of the final phase of beta and the release of the game.
Blizzard representative Nethaera had the following statement to all beta testers:
We’d like to thank all of our beta-test participants for your enthusiasm, dedication, and valuable feedback during the beta test, and we look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on the StarCraft II beta test as the game’s July 27 launch approaches.
