GosuGamers asked DeliCato for his thoughts on the StarCraft 2 beta.
- It is pretty much what I expected. It is the competetive nature that comes with a new game that makes me a happy camper, says DeliCato.

Who is DeliCato?
DeliCato is a renowned StarCraft and WarCraft 3 player, having played in national teams for both titles.
What is your first impression of StarCraft 2?

- It is pretty much what I expected. I don't get overwhelmed like many other fans do. It is the competetive nature that comes with a new game that makes me a happy camper. Especially in the initial stages of the game where strategies are being heavily developed and countered and so on. What will make Starcraft 2 such a good game in my eyes is that it will stay in this strategy-developing stage for so long and it will always be a joy to play it.

You played Zerg on a competitive level when you were active. Is Zerg your favorite race now as well?

- I don't know about favorite race but I am playing Zerg right now. I just don't like losing so I'm sticking to what I know, 5sh6sh7sh - 1a2a3a still works. I'm trying all kinds of openings with fast queen and the amount of options players have early is just great. Starting with 6 workers brings down the boring 2 minute start of StarCraft games aswell. So, given the wide range of options you have in the start, I think I'll stick to Zerg in this beta. Learning more than one race is too hard for me seeing as I like to find very detailed counters and openers.

Blizzard released Battle.net 2.0 with StarCraft 2, what are your thoughts about the structure with the different divisions and the automatic match making system?

- It has alot of potential, I hope it will be a huge success, but blizzard hasn't really been good with their ladders in the past. I don't know if this ladder will be the one or if some community-based competitive arena like WGTour, iCCup or ESL will. Only time can tell how the e-sport scene will develop. I do think there is a good chance that this ladder will revolutionize e-sports after all, I have faith!

How is the future looking for you, will you play the beta and after that go on to the game and play on a a competitive level?

- I will play the beta as much as I can, how much that is I can't tell though, there are too many things I don't know about the months ahead. When Starcraft 2 is released I will probably try to compete in a few tournaments and ladder seasons. I have no idea if I will be any good though, so it is hard to tell. All I do now is pwning noobs on this beta ladder. Feels like I'm kinda good but it might just be an illusion. Right now, I'd love to face David Kim in a Zerg vs Zerg and try my roach rush build! It probably sucks but I win every time because my opponents are nooooobs.

Expect more interviews, screenshots, replays and much more regarding the StarCraft 2 beta.
