The Philippines continue to reign supreme in Mobile Legends, as Filipino teams have now won six straight world championships.
Filipino powerhouse 
Aurora Gaming PH have been crowned as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) world champions after they soundly swept Indonesia's 
Alter Ego Esports, 4-0, in the M7 World Championship's best-of-seven grand finals in Jakarta's Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan on Sunday (25 January).
With their victory, Aurora PH claimed the grand prize of US$320,000 out of the tournament's US$1 million prize pool and, more importantly, the sixth Mobile Legends world title for the Philippines. Despite strong challengers emerging from Indonesia and Malaysia in the past few years, the Philippines remains the most dominant nation in Mobile Legends as Filipino teams have now won every single iteration of the M World Championship since the M2 World Championship back in 2021.

Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap has also claimed his second world title with his team's victory in M7, adding to his first trophy with 
Blacklist International in the M3 World Championship. Meanwhile, Jungler Jonard Cedrix “DemonKite” Caranto, Gold Laner Jan Dominic “Domengkite” Delmundo, Mid Laner Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo, and Roamer Dylan Aaron “Light” Catipon have won their first world titles and bring the total number of Filipino Mobile Legends champions to 27.
Alter Ego bow out of M7 with a commendable second place finish and US$150,000 in consolation. Their loss to Aurora PH also marks a third straight year that an Indonesian squad lost to a Filipino team in the grand finals of the M World Championship.
Aurora PH dominate M7 to bring the Philippines its sixth Mobile Legends world title
Aurora PH earned their spot in M7 as the Philippines' second representative, having finished behind 
Team Liquid PH (TLPH) in Season 16 of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Season 16. The other eventual grand finalist, Alter Ego, also entered the tournament as their nation's second seed behind MPL Indonesia Season 16 champions 
ONIC.
Alter Ego defied expectations by being among the two teams to finish the M7 Swiss Stage undefeated alongside Malaysian powerhouse 
Selangor Red Giants (SRG). Alter Ego defeated Turkiye's 
Aurora Gaming in round one, Chile's 
Black Sentence Esports in round two, and Myanmar's 
Yangon Galacticos in round three to advance to the Knockout Stage with a perfect record.
Meanwhile, Aurora PH qualified for the Knockout Stage with a 3-1 record. They lost in the first round to regional rivals TLPH, but quickly bounced back with three straight victories over Cambodia's 
CFU Gaming, Mongolia's 
Team Zone, and Russia's 
Team Spirit.
Rounding out the list of teams qualified for the Knockout Stage are Aurora Turkiye, TLPH, ONIC, Yangon Galacticos, and Spirit.
In the best-of-three first round of the Knockout Stage, Aurora PH exacted revenge over TLPH in a three-game slugfest while Alter Ego pulled off a 2-0 upset over ONIC. In the first meeting of the two eventual grand finalists in the best-of-five upper bracket semifinals, Aurora PH secured a convincing 3-1 victory to advance to the upper bracket finals and knock Alter Ego down to the lower bracket.
Aurora PH then faced SRG for the first spot in the grand finals, with the Filipino squad managing to come back from a 1-2 deficit in a five-game thriller to become the first team qualified for M7's championship round. Meanwhile, Alter Ego tore through Spirit, TLPH, and SRG in a fiery run through the lower bracket to force a rematch with Aurora PH in the grand finals.
The M7 grand finals kicked off with Aurora PH taking a hard-fought 15-minute win in the series opener before cruising to a 2-0 lead after taking the longest game of the series at 16 minutes in game two. Alter Ego looked to mount a comeback in the pivotal game three, but Aurora PH remained resilient and won in just under 11 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. And despite Alter Ego's best efforts to extend the series in game four, Aurora PH simply outclassed them in an 11-minute rout to secure the M7 World Championship.
