In an exclusive interview with GosuGamers, ONIC Philippines coach Ynot said that teams have already adapted to how they play.
One of the most dominant teams in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB),
ONIC Philippines, struggled a bit in the early days of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 15 Regular Season. Despite that, the team managed to secure third place despite Aurora and Team Liquid PH's dominance in the league. While they had their moments of struggle in the league, ONIC Philippines are back in championship competition, having managed to secure back-to-back ESL Snapdragon Pro Series by winning the Mobile Masters 2025.
ONIC Philippines coach Anthony “Ynot” Dennis Senedrin sat down for an exclusive interview with GosuGamers to talk about his team's current performance in MPL Philippines Season 15 and the rivals they will have to face to win their league.
Coach YnoT said that their opposition have already adapted to their playing style, admitting that they weren't prepared to be one step ahead, especially since they had been in the spotlight even before the season started.
“I'm pretty sure the teams have already adapted to how we play. We've been in the spotlight for such a long time, so even before the season started, I was sure I mentioned that we needed to be one step ahead. Unfortunately, in the first few weeks, we weren't ready, obviously. It was really just a test of our mental toughness, how we would bounce back, and I guess we did that. So, at the end of the day, it's still not over, and it's still the regular season. Regardless of whether we're in the lower or upper bracket, we must keep pushing forward.”
Focused on the facts

As the reigning MLBB world champions, especially with players like Duane “Kelra” Pillas and
King “K1ngkong” Perez, expectations are high for ONIC Philippines to win every single game. However, as mentioned before, the early days of MPL Philippines Season 15 weren't kind to them.
At one point, ONIC Philippines were stranded in fifth place on the leaderboard, with three losses from the five series they played. Doubts that the team could win the title once again and represent MPL Philippines in the Esports World Cup started to pour in.
Coach YnoT said that he didn't pay attention to those voices and focused on identifying their problems individually and as a team. He added that it didn't matter what others said, and they only needed to improve.
Personally, I didn’t pay attention to that. I believe in facts. I focused on identifying the problems we have individually and as a team. To me, it didn't really matter what others say, whether they’re praising us, criticising us, or even doubting us. Each season, it’s really just about us, focusing on what we need to improve. Admittedly, we made a lot of mistakes in the first few weeks. You could say my drafts were wrong, which I accept, or that some players made mechanical mistakes, and that's where we focused our efforts.
The respect for Team Liquid PH
Speaking of MPL Philippines Season 15, YnoT has massive respect for
Team Liquid PH, particularly in the way they play. The coach highlighted their aggression in the field, the way they space their heroes apart, and their mindset that was being translated into their gameplay.
For me, it's Team Liquid PH. I think it's their aggression, team play, spacing, mindset, and mechanics. Everything is on point. They're really skilled and truly impressive
This season, Team Liquid PH finished the Regular Season on top with a record of 12 wins and two losses, tied with their fiercest rival in
Aurora Gaming but getting the edge in terms of Game Difference.
YnoT also expressed his excitement about the prospect of playing against Team Liquid PH in the Playoffs. He was particularly happy about Team Liquid PH's success in recruiting Kiel Calvin “OHEB” Soriano into their team. YnoT's excitement was fueled by the player's play style, admitting that OHEB fits perfectly with Team Liquid's style of play and is really happy to see him perform well.
Actually, even before the regular season started, I mentioned this in an interview. I was so excited to learn they acquired Oheb, especially since I know his play style. We all know he came from Blacklist’s lineup with OhMyV33nus, and though the Ube Strat wasn’t aggressive, the way Oheb plays is something we can all see. They (Team Liquid PH) are number 1 for a reason. His playstyle fits perfectly with Team Liquid’s. As a fan, I’m really happy to see them performing so well, and I’m also really happy for Oheb’s comeback. At the end of the day, we're here to deny that, so it’s just about doing our job.
ONIC Philippines will start the MPL Philippines Season 15 Playoffs in the Play-In stage against
Twisted Minds PH. If they can win against Twisted Minds PH, they will then meet Aurora Gaming. Another victory there will then set up a highly-anticipated match between ONIC Philippines and Team Liquid PH, assuming the latter wins their own upper bracket semifinals match.
