ONIC grabs a shock win over RRQ Hoshi in MPL Indonesia Season 15 Week 6

With Coach Yeb's return to ONIC, the team grabbed a surprise win over Regular Season leader RRQ Hoshi in MPL Indonesia Season 15 Week 6.

ONIC grabbed a surprise win against Regular Season leader RRQ Hoshi after the return of Paul Denver “Coach Yeb” Miranda to the active roster as interim coach in Week 6 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia. The Yellow Hedgehog beat The King of Kings 2-1 in the last day of the week, completing a perfect run in the week as they also beat Team Liquid ID 2-0 in the previous day.

ONIC looked dangerous and more stable after Yeb returned to the coaching staff. While they are still in fifth place, their gameplay has improved significantly from the previous weeks. Kairi “Kairi” Ygnacio Rayosdelsol looked bolder, Gilang “SANZ” looked even more dangerous in the mid lane, but the most surprising one was also the return of Moch “Lutpiii” Ardianto in the EXP Lane in place of Nowee “Ryota.” Cabailo. Overall, ONIC looked ready to end the Regular Season on a high note and clinch an upper bracket berth in the Playoffs.

Here are the MPL Indonesia Season 15 Regular Season standings at the end of Week 6:

  1. RRQ Hoshi (8-2) +9 Game difference (GD)
  2. Geek Fam ID (7-4) +3 GD
  3. Bigetron Esports (6-4) +4 GD
  4. Team Liquid ID (6-5) +1 GD
  5. Alter Ego Esports (6-5) +1 GD
  6. ONIC (6-5) +1 GD
  7. EVOS (5-6) +0 GD
  8. Dewa United Esports (4-6) -2 GD
  9. Natus Vincere (0-11) -17 GD

NAVI MLBB eliminated from Playoff contention

Despite all the hype surrounding their arrival to the Mobile Legends esports scene in Indonesia, Natus Vincere (NAVI) MLBB's run in MPL Indonesia was filled with disappointment. They were eliminated from Playoff contention and now sit at the bottom of the leaderboard with no wins to their name after the end of Week 6.

NAVI lost twice in Week 6, first against Dewa United Esports in the week opener and then to Team Liquid ID in the last day of the week. Both games ended with a 2-0 loss for the newcomer team. NAVI's season hasn't ended yet as they still have five matches left, including one match in Week 7 against the in-form ONIC. A chance to get at least one win is still present, as now they would have a chance to fight without pressure or weight on their shoulders. With that said, disappointment still looms large over the squad.

MPL Indonesia Season 15 will continue with Week 7 on 9 May 2025. Second-placed team Geek Fam ID will meet Dewa United Esports in the week opener, while EVOS will face Team Liquid ID in the last match of the week for a chance to climb the leaderboard.
