Coming this weekend will be the penultimate week of the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 11 Regular Season, with a lot to still play for for most teams involved. While Bren Esports and ECHO have already secured their spot in the second round of the playoffs, the rest of the standings remain wide open for teams to move around. With that in mind, we take a look at the teams in the bottom four who are going to have the toughest time reaching playoffs.
TNC Pro Team
MPL PH Season 11 has seen some big twists already, especially with the resurgence of Bren into the upper rankings and Blacklist International managing to keep their heads above water with a few new faces. However, for TNC, things have not gone well at all. After managing to reach third two seasons ago, TNC has fallen back into last place, not managing many victories at all. One positive for the team was their victory over Bren in Week 6, which could bolster morale and see them make a final run at the top six. With ECHO, ONIC Philippines, and Smart Omega Esports awaiting them in the coming weeks, TNC will need more magnificent performances from Benthings to have a shot at playoffs.
Omega Esports
The first half of 2022 saw Omega returning to a semblance of their previous strengths, with a fantastic run in MPL PH Season 9 and a great finish at MSC 2022. However, the second half of the year let them down, and it seems as though they have not quite overcome this in 2023. With some major team changes, Omega has put in quite the shift during the Regular Season, although they are not quite clear just yet. The final two weeks do have some “easier” series in store, but with everything so close in the bottom four, teams will be pulling out all the stops.
Nexplay EVOS
Building a new team from the ground up is quite tough for any organisation, but having to bring that roster into MPL PH is on another level. For NXP, that is exactly what Season 11 has been, with only YellyHaze being the only member who has been with the team for some time. The team have definitely not backed down from any challenges, but they also have not managed to make a solid impact over the past six weeks of the Regular Season. With two weeks left, things do not look great for NXP as they face some of their toughest opponents – with Omega being the only team that they have a viable shot against this coming weekend.
ONIC Philippines
ONIC have a fantastic roster on paper, one that is able to take down some of the best teams in PH at every turn. Something seems to have not clicked with the team this season, as they have been unable to really string together victories. When they do win, players such as Sensui have stood out, but their losses are getting the better of them. This weekend ONIC have one rather tough series against Blacklist and one that could keep them afloat against TNC – but we can never count out anyone in the MPL.
For Week 7, there is bound to be complete chaos in MPL PH, as the bottom four fight tooth and nail to reach the playoffs. The top four teams are mostly set, but some losses could see things completely change in the standings – although ECHO and Bren are confirmed at the top two spots. We will have to wait and see just what comes from this weekend, but it could be the last chance for some teams to claw their way into the MPL PH Season 11 playoffs.
