31st SEA Games: Team Vietnam and Malaysia secures their slots to the final stage

Vietnam goes undefeated in Group B while Malaysia scrapes past for the second slot into the final stage.

Team Vietnam has been an unstoppable force during the first day of League of Legends in the 31st SEA Games. They have defeated both Malaysia and Laos twice to secure themselves a 4-0 finish as well as a slot in the final stage. As for Malaysia, they managed to get through even after losing twice against Vietnam. However, they overcame Laos twice as well, putting them at 2-2 and through to the final stage.

For the most part, the host nation has been impressive on day one, easily dispatching both their group counterparts without much issue. As things stand, Vietnam will be one of the major favourites heading into the last two days. Having home ground support has also been a major focal point for the team.

Philippines versus Singapore - Game 3.

As of right now, only Group A remains on who will be the top two seeds heading into the final stage. Singapore led for most of the day but the Philippines managed to mount a late comeback by taking the table toppers to the sword and winning the second match, forcing a tiebreaker to decide who finishes as the top seed.

Whoever finishes first in Group A will face Malaysia while the second-seeded team will go on to face Vietnam. the semifinal matches will happen tomorrow, May 21 while the gold and bronze medal matches will fall on Sunday, May 22.
