31st SEA Games: Team Vietnam gets off to a perfect start after steamrolling Malaysia in Group B

The host nation kicked off the first day of League of Legends at the 31st SEA Games with a victory against Malaysia in Group B.

Vietnam has always been seen as one of the favourites to take the gold in League of Legends at the 31st SEA Games and they proved just why with a clinical and decisive performance against Malaysia in their first game of the day. With the entire Vietnam squad consisting of the GAM Esports lineup, it's easy to see why they are so dominant.

The multi-VCS Split winners already missed out on attending the Mid-Season Invitational 2022 in Busan, South Korea for the second year in a row but it doesn't look to be slowing them down. The team took down Malaysia 23-4; an overall dominant performance from Vietnam's best team.

Vietnam dispatches Malaysia with ease in their opening match of Group B.

Their lineup of Vladimir, Wukong, Ahri, Kalista, and the latest champion Renata Glasc, Vietnam ensured they gave no time and space to farm and get themselves into the game. Instead, Vietnam was constantly diving under towers to throw their opponents off and oftentimes, catching them off-guard.

The likes of Vladimir was causing all sort of chaos in the top lane while Wukong was being the annoying jungler that he is, constantly rotating to help the team pick up kills as well as objectives. With the home crowd spurring them on, it was only a matter of time before Vietnam went for the all-in death push, swiftly ending the game in just over 20 minutes.

With Malaysia set to play against Laos next, they will be looking to get their first win of the tournament to keep themselves in contention for the final stage tomorrow. In Group A, Singapore emerged victorious against Thailand.
