DRX makes big changes to both its roster and coaching staff

DRX makes some big changes to both its League of Legends starting line-up as well as the coaching staff.

LCK squad DRX has revamped its League of Legends roster as well as its coaching staff going into the upcoming LCK Spring Split 2022. The likes of Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo will take over the mid-lane and he will be joined by Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu on the ADC role with Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee on the support. They will make up the rest of the team, which also consists of top laner, Hwang "Kingen" Seong-hoon and jungler, Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon. This isn't all, however, as DRX has also brought in a new coaching staff in the form of Kim "Kim" Jung-su, Lee "Mowgli" Jae-ha, and Sin “Shine” Dong-wook.

One of the main men to watch from DRX in the 2022 season is Deft, who rejoins the organisation after two years a few years back when they were known as King-Zone DragonX. Deft was part of the 2020 squad that finished third and second in the Spring and Summer Splits alongside a Worlds 2020 quarterfinal finish. While he did have a mixed season with Hanwha Life Esports, he will be coming back to the team with which he shared the most success and hoping to replicate that once more.

He will be accompanied by BeryL, who left DWG.KIA after unsuccessfully defending their title. While most of his success did come during his time at DWG, he wasn't part of the reformed squad after disbanding weeks earlier. However, BeryL will be the only member of DRX to have tasted victory on the Worlds grand final stage and he will be hoping to bring the valuable experience he has gained from his time at DWG to apply to his new home.

For the mid-lane, DRX will be sticking with Zeka, who is returning to the LCK after spending two years abroad in the LPL. Starting his career with KT Rolster, he soon made his way to China where he played for Vici Gaming and Bilibili Gaming before making the return trip back to South Korea. While his performances abroad haven't been all too convincing, DRX will be hoping that there will be an upturn in performances with their new coaching staff.

Looking back on their 2021 season, DRX did not have the best of times. They started the season well, ending it with a fifth-place finish, which wasn't all that bad considering the level of competition. Unfortunately, the Summer Split was not too kind on them as they ended in dead last with a final tally of 2-16. With the new season slowly creeping up on us, DRX will be one of the team's to watch in the coming months.
