Promotion qualifier group stage announced for NA and EU

To qualify for the LCS Spring Promotion, the top six teams from the ladder-seeding bracket stages will have to emerge victorious from a round robin group stage.

The promotional qualifying matches from the end of the Summer Split through the past month for Spring LCS have seen the rise of lesser known teams like Vex, now vVv Gaming, and Salad Tomate Oignon, as well as success from fan favorites like CompLexity Gaming and Copenhagen Wolves.  Four teams from each region have emerged victorious so far, and Riot has decided to announce a change in the rules.

Previously, it was declared that the final qualifying matches for the Spring Promotion would be best of three series between the top four teams from bracket and round two group stage.  Instead, Riot has announced that six teams will be selected from each region to compete in a final group stage.  This may be in part due to  connection and DDOS errors that have plagued the tournaments.  Expanding the final round will give increased chances to other teams.  The last two teams from each region will be decided throughout November as qualifying games continue.  North American qualifiers can be watched on WellPlayed and European qualifying matches observed on ESL Twitch streams.

The group stage will take place over the first week of December, and the top six teams will face each other in fifteen best of one matches.  The top three in each group will successfully qualify for the LCS Promotion in their respective region.  The Spring Promotional will take place in front of a live audience to set the tone for the rest of LCS, and winners will earn their spots in the upcoming split.
