Stay Green completes Triple Crown

?

They went into the tournament as the clear favorite, they walk out of the tournament as the new DreamHack Summer 2013 Champions. Stay Green therefore has won the last three major LAN events and is closing in fast on the legendary fnatic.MSI

They came, they saw and they conquered. The original squad of Stay Green has completed the first ever Triple Crown in HoN's history. The squad around captain and drafter Swindlemelonzz started into the tournament as the clear favorite to win it, they struggled after their 52-game win streak snapped, but they bounced back in incredible fashion. Now the team is holding the HoN Tour, the Garena Star League and the DreamHack Championship all at the same time - an unprecidented occurrence. To reach that goal the team had to overcome a strong and motivated compLexity Gaming squad, that gave them their all in a tight and highly entertaining three-game series to finish off the HoN tournament at DreamHack.

As the first match was played in the regular HoN booth, sG could secure a victory their with a pretty decisive match. Once the big lights were on, the stage was big and the crowd was loud, the team had to adjust a little bit and found themselves in a real epic series. The second map went in favor of compLexity Gaming, who had great moments provided by bkid's signature hero in Magmus, fantastic plays by MoonMeander on Bubbles , quick reactions by Riser_'s Ophelia and Tralfamadore showcasing the absolute power with Wildsoul.

The entire tournament therefore came down to the last match of the day, the last match of DreamHack Summer 2013. Right off the bat sG got the early momentum with nice pickups and Swindlemelonzz, who was able to crush MoonMeander on Pharaoh in the laning phase. The captain scored the Bloodlust and another solo kill with his short lane Witch Slayer, catapulting the Miami powerhouse to an early advantage. That advantage was turned rather quickly by coL, as they got the better out of the following exchanges and looked like a pretty good bet to walk away with the DreamHack title. In the end it all came down to a crucial engagement that compLexity Gaming forced in the middle lane. MoonMeander tried to initiate with his newly acquired Portal Key, but couldn't catch anyone with his Mummy Wall. That miss put coL in a difficult spot and Chessie could get his ultimate as Tempest off. Initially he only caught Moon, but Tralf walked one inch to close to the Elemental Void and all the dreams and hopes of coL got soaked into the ultimate as a result. coL tried to make something happen, but sLiCKz and KheZu got way too much farm on Pebbles and War Beast so they scaled completely out of control. After some desperate push attempts to still try to capitalize on the lack of Buybacks that the sG roster had left, they tried to force the issue, but the response from Stay Green was always on point and always decimated the North American squad around fan favorite MoonMeander.

So after an one hour marathon to finish the series coL admitted defeat and gave Stay Green their most shining moment so far. They are now at three Doombringer on the forums, only one shy of tying the all-time great team of fnatic.MSI with legendary members like Fly, n0tail, NoVa, Freshpro, Era and H4nn1.

Still the team does not yet want to take the comparison or even the spot over the most dominant HoN team of all time. Like Swindle said after the match: "Jordan is best because he has six rings." So two "rings" are still missing.
