AFK Milking Cows wins Swedish Pride

AFK Milking Cows shocked Sweden and Newerth today with their unexpected run all the way to a DreamHack Summer 2013 ticket. They are now the Pride of Sweden and will represent their home region in Jönköping.

On a day with several upsets and the favorites being eliminated early it was the unexpected team of AFK Milking Cows that punched their ticket to DreamHack Summer 2013. The team consisting of several former Vietnamese Dream members and their friends played terrific HoN against the mighty Lions in the Semifinals, while overcoming an early 0-1 deficit against the #1 seed in the tournament.

After that they met the other upset of the tournament in the Grand Finals - locomotive led by the estimeed carry player Jollem. Once again the team around VnSensation and Pewe` fought their way through every obstacle, overcoming the last stepping stone on their path to the Elmia Convention Center in Jönköping, Sweden.

With their interesting and unconventional draft style plus marvelous play by Support on Empath, they will be the wildcard in the upcoming DreamHack Summer 2013, while established teams like Lions eSports and Internet Gangster will have to take the observer role at the event.

While Lions at least made it to the Semifinals, where they lost to AFK Milking Cows, iG couldn't make it past the Quarterfinals of the tournament. In that round iNsania and his new team suffered defeat at the hands of Pew and his Team Excellent. They provided the first uproar that went through the entire community by upsetting iG, which became an afterthought just a couple of hours later with AFK Milking Cows kicking the #1 Seed out of the competition and proceeding to win it all.

The Swedish Pride winner will now join stiff competition from the NA/EU region such as Stay Green, compLexity Gaming and the reigning and defending Champions of ex-Trademark eSports, while also getting matched against the elite of the SEA and CIS scene. All players will celebrate their offline debut on one of the biggest stages HoN has to offer. Still the way they played tonight might make them an interesting, but unpredictable element in the structure of the entire tournament.
