Card of the Day: Shadowflame

Today's Card of the Day features the Warlock's ulitmate sweep spell, capable of clearing almost any board situation at a cost.

PROS: It is the strongest sweep card the Warlock could have. One can even argue that it is the best card for what it does, and that's in comparision to other control classes like Mage and Druid. For 4 mana and a minion with a decent attack stat, you can take out any or all threats on the board. You could go for a 6 mana pseudo-[card]Flamestrike[/card] with [card]Ancient Watcher[/card], for go for ultimate control move by sacrificing a [card]Molten Giant[/card]. Shadowflame is great for control-type Warlocks, as they would have the resources and minions to give great value to this card.

CONS: That said, the value of this card varies wildly on the minion used. If you can't get a strong minion of survive one turn or have enough mana for a combo, then it is pretty much a dead card. Also, another big issue is the additional cost. While you are grabbing board control back with it, you will lose a bit as well. In situations where you can't afford to lose any more minions, this can suddenly harm you more than help.
