Artosis wins Blizzcon invitational Hearthstone tournament

Taking home the trophy, Artosis wins the first ever Blizzcon tournament, landing the final blow with his warrior deck.

The grand finals were a best of 5 format with three different decks per team.  Each player plays with their winning deck until it's eliminated, while the losing player switches to an unused deck.  In his final game against Kripparian, Artosis played a nail-biting and intensely close finals with warrior vs. Kripparian's legendary "turn 8" win mage deck.  Though the game was drawn beyond that point and went incredibly lategame, still Artosis prevailed.

Leading up to the final game, the two began using very powerful yet very distinct Paladin decks, in which Artosis prevailed.  Artosis had then strategized (and saved) a deck specifically to stop another Priest deck in a mirror matchup.  Utilizing early buffed 4 attack cards allowed Artosis to decisively counter Priest removal cards such as Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word:Death, which destroys cards with 3 or less damage or 5 or more damage respectively.  Artosis was slowly able to widdle down the opposition using this tactic.

The stream managed to peak at around 100,000 viewers on TwitchTV.  The stream started steadying around 75,000 viewers when the utilization of "Freeze" and duel-drawing cards was in the advantage of the player with absolutely no board control due to the fact that the opposing player could not fit any more minions on the field.  It reached its prime when viewers tuned in to see a man who's been desperate to win a tournament on stage, even if it's not Starcraft, who's been casting Starcraft and previously was a contender in WCG for Brood War.
