The USA has the particularity of two pathways for qualifying. An online ladder and offline tournaments. Rather odd system that I guess has the objective of increasing the number of participants and allowing those players, that are geographically stranded, a shot at the gold. They promise strict monitoring for hacks and actually prosecution of hackers for fraud. It will be interesting to find out how they will do the former and to see if the ladder even ever happens.
