Sahamies has been accustomed to wild swings his whole career, but the disheartening one-way down downswing over the last year or so has sapped much of his bankroll and desire for the game. The regularity of his play has been affected, as well.
The majority of Sahamies profitable comeback has been at the hands of French pro Romain "moirhums" Arnaud. Last week he won over $100k from the pro, and this weekend he took a further $224k. They played 2,300 hands at stakes from $50/$100 up to $200/$400 PLO with the majority of playing coming at the lower stakes.
In other action, Sahamies battled French pro Rui "PeppersonF" Cao, coming out on top for another $100k before other ups and downs over the busy weekd took the Finn's total profit down to around +$200k.
If Sahamies can maintain the momentum, he could quickly erase his PokerStars deficit and begin to claw into his long term deficit. The encouraging sign on PokerStars has been that $200/$400 PLO tables have been running, which is the former playground of Sahamies when he played on Full Tilt Poker. Those games create big pots that get the juices flowing for these seasoned high stakes pros.
Let's hope the action continues in the coming weeks.
