ElkY Making Another Run in Prestigious $10k NLHE 6-Max Tournament

In the first WSOP event of 2011 to offer an over $1 million first place prize, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier is making another run for a second WSOP bracelet. Grospellier sat in third midway through day 3 with a stacked field of tough online and live regulars. Ben Lamb, the current WSOP Player of the Year points leader is also going for his second gold bracelet of the series with 14 players remaining. Both players are trying to become the first to win a second bracelet this summer.

The $10,000 buy-in Event #46 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed Championship attracted a formidable field of 474 entrants generating a $4,455,600 prizepool.

Some other tough players still in contention with 14 players remaining include Joe Ebanks, Ben Tollerene, Mike Sowers, Taylor Apur, Gabe Patgorski, Tristan Wade and William Thorson. Another player to watch is the online legend Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, who is in search of his first WSOP bracelet, and will be cashing for the fifth time in the 2011 WSOP –he also cashed five times in the 2010 WSOP.

2009 WSOP Main Event winner Joe Cada finished in 26th place for his deepest WSOP run since winning the Main Event two years ago. Last year, Cada failed to cash in any WSOP events. This year he has a 144th place finish in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event worth $3,779 to go along with his $29,228 for the 6 max finish.

Notables that finished in the money were Tom Marchese (47th), William Reynolds (44th), Isaac Baron (39th), Aaron Jones (31st), Jason Koon (29th), Phil Laak (28th), Russell Carson (22nd), David Benefield (20th), and Lee Markholt (16th) who was the oldest remaining player at 48.

The winner will collect $1,158,481 and a gold bracelet while second place will take home $716,282.
