Victory Poker has announced that after a notable year in the online poker business ripe with innovative advertising and marketing, along with two shifts in networks, has decided to fold their poker room. In the wake of the indictments to PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker, Victory Poker CEO Dan Fleyshman quickly blocked U.S. players from his Cake Network skin.
Victory Poker players received an email from Cake Poker indicating that their account would be upgraded to a Cake Poker account on June 1st. All rewards, gold cards, gold chips and tournament tickets would be transferred over to players’ new Cake Poker accounts. As Cake was already handling the software, cashier and customer support, the transition should be relatively seamless unless players already had a Cake account that now will be combined.
Fleyshman indicated on his Twitter "I’m just emotionally done with continuing as a poker site after #Blackfriday ripped the heart out of the US market which I loved.”
Victory Poker has actively marketed a sexy, fun and party type atmosphere with their youthful blend of sponsored pros and models like
Antonio Esfandiari, Andrew Robl, Jonathan Little, Brian Rast, Alec Torelli, Paul Wasicka and Sara Underwood.
"The brand will continue doing strategy, news (and) videos as an affiliate site," Fleyshman posted on his Facebook page. "I will be focusing much more on my upcoming charity, consulting other companies and helping with Victory marketing."
