Antonius Dominates April

After playing uninspired slightly losing poker for the first three months of 2011, Patrik Antonius enforced his will in April, in particular after Black Friday, to finish the month with a massive $2.3 million win from high stakes cash games. The biggest winner on the year, Gus Hansen, had his worst month finishing down $964,000.

Known for having won the EPT Copenhagen in 2009, Kyllonen put together his best month ever online in April largely the result of a big win against Andreas Torbergsen.

3. URnotINdanger2: +$956,000

U.S. based Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer was limited to the first two weeks of the month but still was able to push himself back into the positive territory after having a very up-and-down year.

4. Rui Cao: +$902,000

Similar to Patrik Antonius, Frenchman Cao was down a few hundred thousand at the start of the money but he turned things around for his best month winning $902,000 over just 8,972 hands.

5. bixiu: +$498,000

Over 7,208 hands, bixiu was able to gain $498k in profit in April to bring him to plus $1.4 million on the year.

1. Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen: -$1.5 million

After a tremendous year in 2010, the Norwegian Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen rand into the Kyllonen buzzsaw losing a massive $1 milllion session on his way to $1.5 million in losses in April.

2. Gus Hansen: -$964,000

Hansen, who had been killing the games in 2011 seemed to feel the sting of Black Friday worst, seeing his first big losing month. He remains the biggest winner at $3.1 million, but with a surging Antonius, who knows how long that will last.

3. Tom "Durrrr" Dwan: -$513,000

While rumors have Dwan up big in various live cash game settings, 2011 has been a disaster for Tom “durrrr” Dwan as he dropped another $513k in just 5,244 hands. His online plans are now up in the air due to the lock out of U.S. Full Tilt players.

4. Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies: -$481,000

The Finnish poker pro has been on extended downswing since last September and despite a few wins in 2011, he slid another $481k over 7,331 hands of PLO in April.

5. David Oppenheim: -$480,000

David Oppenheim lost $480,000 in the month of April in mixed game play and will likely focus on his profitable live game play being a U.S. based player.
