Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is shaping up nicely.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is a long-anticipated sequel to 2016’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, an action-RPG fighting game that gives players the power fantasy of living in Dragon Ball’s universe and doing all the no-holds-barred fighting themselves in large-scale combat. This time, they’ll be exploring a developed West City in AGE 1000.
We played a demo of the game at Tokyo Game Show 2026, and here are our thoughts on what we played:

In AGE 1000, players will step into the ranks of the Great Saiyan Squad, explore the city, meet new characters, and develop their fighting skills. Players can build up their playstyle by combining a colourful variety of different combat skills and techniques to make original combat loops, all of which are certainly inspired by iconic Dragon Ball media.
In the demo I played, I was allowed to either pick from a male Saiyan or a female human. The male Saiyan would have lower health but gain the ability to go Super Saiyan, while the female human had access to different skills and better defensive capabilities.
The mission I embarked on was rather simple. I simply had to go talk to an NPC, fly through an icy environment filled with miscellaneous enemies, and finish things off with a challenging fight against Broly. The Broly fight took the longest by far out of the whole demo for me to complete, but I still managed to beat the whole thing in under seven minutes out of the designated 14–a fact that I am proud of, despite knowing that the demo was taking it easy on me.
Combat involves using special abilities to dish out tons of damage, plus chasing your enemies down in midair after sending them hurtling through the sky with devastating combos and skills. Everything a Dragon Ball fan would expect is here–from Kamehamehas to team-ups with iconic Dragon Ball characters, along with a pretty wide combat arena. It’s pretty impressive, and the game appears to be shaping up quite nicely.
We also started off in the demo in the player character's apartment, with a brief tease of the world outside. We didn't get to explore very much, but a few appearances from iconic Dragon Ball characters hint at plenty of fanservice to come in the full game.
