The full release gives both returning players and newcomers plenty of reasons to explore Palpagos from the beginning.
Palworld has officially left Early Access with the launch of version 1.0, bringing 72 new Pals, major new locations, and sweeping overhauls to its story, combat and progression.
According to the Palworld 1.0 Changelog posted on Steam, the full release adds the floating islands of Sunreach, the World Tree, and seven smaller islands, while raising the level cap from 65 to 80.
Players will also find new ways to strengthen their Pals through Awakening and Mutation, over 200 reworked Partner Skills, revamped combat and Tower Bosses, 13 new weapons, aquatic base building, wave-based raids, and in-game voice chat.
What new locations are in Palworld 1.0?
The biggest new locations in Palworld 1.0 are Sunreach and the World Tree.
Sunreach is a group of islands floating above Palpagos through the power of Paldium. The skybound region has its own environment and civilisation, along with new Pals, Tower Bosses and ores that require specialised equipment to mine.

The World Tree, meanwhile, sits at the heart of Palworld's reworked story and the mystery behind why the factions of the Palpagos Islands continue fighting over the towers.
Main missions and the overall story flow have also been significantly reworked, connecting exploration, Tower Boss battles and the journey towards the World Tree more naturally. New continuous sub-missions, NPCs and Journals have also been added. Returning players should take note that main mission and sub-mission progress has been reset following changes to rewards. Some tutorial and Tower Boss-related missions will automatically be marked as completed, based on existing Tower Boss defeat progress.

The rest of Palpagos has also been expanded with seven smaller islands across volcano, desert, and ruins biomes, alongside new settlements, Ancient Ruins, Watchtowers and enemy bases at sea. Wildlife Sanctuaries have also been overhauled with unique environments, exclusive Pals, rare materials, and powerful bosses.
Palworld 1.0 adds 72 new Pals, and introduces Awakening
A total of 72 Pals have been added for Palworld's full release, made up of 47 completely new Pals and 25 variants found across Sunreach, the World Tree, and other regions.

Version 1.0 also introduces Awakening, which allows players to strengthen their Pals using Radiant Gems found within the World Tree. Mutation adds another layer to breeding, with a low chance of producing a stronger Pal with higher stats and a unique passive skill. New cakes can also influence breeding by improving stat growth and mutation chances, producing two Pal Eggs at once or increasing the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills.
What other changes have been introduced related to Pals in Palworld 1.0?
More than 200 Partner Skills have also been reworked, opening up more ways to build teams around combat, exploration, gathering, fishing, and base management. Other Pal progression systems have become less demanding. Completing a Capture Bonus now requires five catches instead of 12, while the number of Pals needed to reach maximum Condensation has been reduced from 116 to 48. Work Suitability has also been expanded to 10 levels and rebalanced across all Pals, while more than 100 new motions have been added.
Palworld 1.0 overhauls combat and adds 13 new weapons
Palworld's combat has received a major overhaul, with player movement, dodging and weapon handling reworked to feel more responsive. Dodging while attacking or aiming now performs a dash instead of a roll, while players can attack during a dash and continue reloading through dodge actions. Nearly all Pal Active Skills have also been rebalanced, and party Pals can now deal damage equal to or greater than the player. Players can directly command a Pal to attack a specific enemy, while wild Pals have received new combat behaviours.

Tower Bosses now fight inside revamped towers, with some receiving new motions and skills. Their time limit has been reduced from 10 minutes to five, with boss stats adjusted accordingly. The full release also adds the Wing Pack, which consumes Wing Cells, and allows players to fly without relying on a Pal.
A total of 13 new weapons have been added, while the Extra Weapon Holster allows players to carry up to six weapons. Version 1.0 also introduces 44 new accessories and new Ancient Series armour.
Can you build bases on water in Palworld 1.0?
Yes, the new Aquatic Construction Kit allows players to build bases along shorelines and at sea. Version 1.0 also adds new furniture, ancient civilisation-style structures and improvements to how Work Pals handle hauling, storage, and other tasks.

What changes were made to the Base Raid System in Palworld 1.0?
The Base Raid System has also been reworked into a wave-based format. Enemies now attack in successive waves, with rewards for defeating them all, while the types of attackers can change depending on the environment. Defence structures no longer consume ammunition, and enemy levels scale based on the Work Pals assigned to the base. Players can also pay a new visiting Negotiator to cancel an upcoming raid.
Palworld 1.0 adds in-game voice chat and new guild features
Palworld 1.0 adds in-game voice chat for dedicated servers when enabled through the world settings, although the feature is not supported on WinGDK. Guilds now have multiple roles with custom permissions, login and logout notifications, and shared markers. In-game chat can also store up to 200 lines of history, while server joining, password saving, and other multiplayer features have been improved.
Palworld 1.0 also includes a much wider list of balance changes, UI, and quality-of-life improvements, as well as visual and sound upgrades across the game.
All of the changes and smaller adjustments are detailed in the full Palworld 1.0 Changelog published on Steam.
