Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls might have delivered some long-awaited fixes this week.
PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works have officially rolled out a new update for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, addressing a colourful variety of bugs and performance issues. These include PlayStation 5 woes like team building settings constantly getting reset, performance problems across the board, and various gameplay bugs.
Let’s break it down.

Has Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls fixed its PC port yet?
Developer Arc System Works has officially pushed a new patch for its latest fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. This 21 August patch is focused on fixing up some of the game’s more debilitating and often reported-on bugs and performance issues, targeting both PC and PS5 versions.
First off, the PS5 version has had a few annoying bugs ironed out. Specifically, online battle, lobby avatar, and registered teams will no longer reset upon restarting the game (an issue that has plagued this writer since launch), and players will no longer automatically forfeit their match by not pressing the Participate button quickly enough.
The PC version will no longer experience heavy processing loads periodically during matches, which will hopefully improve performance. On PC and PS5, badge progress will now save correctly. There are quite a few gameplay bugs that have been fixed as well, including issues with the Crossover not activating correctly, or backdashes being performed in unintended ways.
The Green Goblin and Deadpool’s character lessons have also been touched up. Episode Mode, Arcadia Rumble, and Open Lobby have also been fixed up with minor bugs being addressed.
The big ticket item here is matchmaking. In this week’s patchnotes, Online Matches have been adjusted to “improve matchmaking in both Ranked and Casual Matches.” This has been a major issue for players in recent weeks, as some players have been unable to find matches unless using specific search options.
The full 21 August patch notes include fixes for features like Replays, along with information on the game’s PC patch sizing. Read it all below:
