This is Leviatán's first international win in VCT.
Leviatán are the champions of VALORANT Masters London 2026, after defeating
Paper Rex 3-2 at the Grand Finals on Sunday (21 June).
Paper Rex entered Masters Toronto as one of the tournament favourites after securing a direct Playoffs berth as the top seed from VCT Pacific.
The Singaporean squad opened its Playoffs campaign by sweeping Leviatán 2-0 in the quarterfinals, sending the Americas side into the lower bracket. Paper Rex then edged past
Team Vitality 2-1 in the upper-bracket semifinal before defeating
EDward Gaming in the upper-bracket final to secure a place in the grand final.
Leviatán also arrived in Toronto in strong form. The Americas squad booked its Playoffs spot through the Swiss Stage after back-to-back 2-1 victories over
Global Esports and
NRG.
Their Playoffs campaign hit an early setback with a loss to Paper Rex, sending them down to the lower bracket. From there, however, Leviatán put together one of the tournament's most impressive runs. They edged past
Team Heretics 2-1 in the opening lower-bracket round before sweeping both
XLG Esports and Team Vitality 2-0. The momentum continued in the lower-bracket final, where Leviatán dismantled EDG 3-0 to secure a place in the grand final.
Here's how the matches went:
Paper Rex dominate Fracture to open VALORANT Masters London 2026 grand final
Paper Rex set the tone on Fracture, quickly establishing control of the map and forcing Leviatán to play from behind. Pacific's first seed built a sizeable 10-2 advantage by halftime, repeatedly finding openings through coordinated site hits and well-timed aggression. Leviatán struggled to slow the pace, often finding themselves overwhelmed before they could settle into rounds.
Any hopes of a comeback were short-lived after the side swap. Paper Rex remained firmly in command and comfortably closed out Fracture 13-3 to secure the first map of the series.
Leviatán strike back on Split to draw level the series
Leviatán wasted little time putting the opening map behind them on Split. The Americas representatives burst out to a 6-0 start and consistently disrupted Paper Rex's attempts to gain momentum. Although Paper Rex managed to recover several rounds late in the half, Leviatán maintained their composure and carried that confidence into the second side.
With their defensive setups proving difficult to break, Leviatán steadily widened the gap after halftime. Paper Rex were unable to string together enough successful attacks, allowing Leviatán to close out Split 13-6 and draw the series level at 1-1.
Paper Rex survive Breeze comeback in an attempt to reclaim series lead
Breeze delivered the closest contest of the grand final so far. Paper Rex looked the sharper side early, building an 8-4 lead before the break and placing themselves in a strong position to reclaim the series advantage. Leviatán, however, refused to let the map slip away and steadily chipped away at the deficit throughout the second half.
The two teams traded blows in a tense back-and-forth battle, with neither side able to create much breathing room. When the decisive rounds arrived, Paper Rex repeatedly found the answers they needed, converting crucial situations to edge out a 13-11 victory. The result restored their lead in the series at 2-1 and left the Pacific squad one map away from the Masters London crown.
Leviatán take control of Ascent to force a deciding map
With Paper Rex entering Ascent one map away from the championship, Leviatán delivered when the pressure was at its highest. Paper Rex held a narrow advantage for much of the opening half, but Leviatán remained within striking distance and gradually found ways to punish the Pacific side's aggression. After trailing 5-7 at the break, the Americas representatives came alive once sides switched.
Round by round, Leviatán wrestled momentum away from Paper Rex, finding key openings and converting crucial mid-round situations to swing the map in their favour. Paper Rex struggled to regain control as Leviatán pieced together a dominant defensive half, eventually closing out Ascent 13-10.
The victory levelled the series at 2-2 and sent the Masters London grand final to a deciding fifth map.
Leviatán dominate Lotus to secure Masters London 2026 title
With the championship on the line, Leviatán turned Lotus into their statement map. The Americas side exploded out of the gates, racing to an overwhelming 11-1 lead in the first half. Paper Rex struggled to find answers as Leviatán repeatedly shut down their attacks and converted nearly every advantage into another round on the board.
Paper Rex showed signs of life after the side swap and managed to string together several rounds in an attempt to claw their way back into the map. However, the deficit proved too large to overcome. Leviatán remained composed, halted the comeback attempt, and secured the final rounds needed to close out Lotus 13-5 to win the game and the series.
Neon, one of the rookie members of the team, was also notably named as the MVP of VALORANT Masters London.
With their win, Leviatán have claimed first place, earning eight VCT Points and taking home US$350,000. They are also the youngest team to win an international trophy. Meanwhile, Paper Rex bow out of the competition in second place, with six VCT points and taking home US$200,000 in consolation.
