Overwatch adds five all-new heroes in Season 1, including the long-awaited Jetpack Cat

Five new Overwatch heroes are coming next week.

During the Overwatch Spotlight 2026, Blizzard announced sweeping changes for the decade-old shooter, including a title change–removing the ‘2’–a refreshed UI, a renewed focus on its lore and cinematic universe, and, most excitingly, new heroes to usher in the first chapter of Overwatch’s next era.

But here’s the thing–there will be not one, not two, but five heroes dropping at once on 10 February. Blizzard has also promised a new hero every season, totalling 10 new heroes arriving this year alone.

Here’s a preview of all five new heroes launching next week.

All-new heroes coming to Overwatch

The Overwatch Spotlight gave fans a first look at the new hero line-up, fitting for The Reign of Talon story event. Players will meet three new antagonists fighting alongside Vendetta, the daughter of the head of the terrorist organisation Talon. To balance the scales, Blizzard is also introducing two heroes opposing Talon, with one particular feline already rising as a fan favourite.

Domina–Tank

Domina is set to join Overwatch on 10 February (Image: Blizzard).

Fighting on the side of Talon, Domina joins as “the first true poke tank since Sigma”, wielding a long-range controller and exerting powerful zone dominance. She is the heiress and Vice President of Vishkar Industries, and while not formally part of Talon, her alliance with Vendetta has helped secure her company redevelopment rights over territories under Talon’s control.

Domina’s abilities:

  • Photon Magnum (Primary Fire)–A medium-range beam that culminates in a high-impact shot.

  • Barrier Array–Deploys a segmented hard-light barrier in front of Domina. Each segment must be destroyed individually, creating dynamic defensive angles.

  • Crystal Charge–Project an explosive crystal and reactivate to detonate it.

  • Sonic Repulsors–Push enemies back, stunning them if they collide with a wall.

  • Ultimate: Panopticon–Fire a hard-light barrier that imprisons enemies and detonates upon expiration.

  • Passive: Reconstruction–Dealing damage with abilities also restores shields.

Emre–Damage

Emre is set to join Overwatch on 10 February (Image: Blizzard).

Emre is a cyborg-esque damage dealer torn by internal conflict over which side he truly fights for. Once a member of the Overwatch Strike Team, he chose to leave after a failed mission, after which he underwent extensive cybernetic modification. At times, he behaves like the person he once was; at others, he seems cold and detached.

Emre’s abilities:

  • Synthetic Burst Rifle (Primary Fire)–A three-round burst weapon.

  • Take Aim (Secondary Fire)–Hold to zoom in, tightening accuracy and increasing fall-off range.

  • Siphon Blaster–Temporarily wield a semi-automatic pistol with life-stealing explosive rounds. Movement speed and jump height are increased while active.

  • Cyber Frag–Throw a grenade that detonates shortly after bouncing.

  • Ultimate: Override Protocol–Initiates an override, transforming Emre into a living weapon that fires rapid explosive blasts or charged mega-shots capable of wiping entire teams.

  • Passive: Altered Vitals–Passive health regeneration activates sooner and instantly restores 30 health when triggered.

Mizuki–Support

From the Hashimoto clan, Mizuki works alongside Talon and has been tasked with infiltrating Yokai near Kanezaka. However, there are concerns he may defect, influenced by Overwatch, having long endured misfortune and pressure within his hierarchy.

Mizuki’s abilities:

  • Spirit Glaive (Primary Fire)–Throw a spinning blade that can bounce off walls, strike enemies, and deal rapid damage.

  • Healing Kasa–Throw your hat to heal an ally, bouncing to nearby teammates and healing you when it returns.

  • Katashiro Return–Leap forward, leaving behind a paper doll. Reactivate to return to it and gain increased movement speed while active.

  • Binding Chain–Launch a tethering chain that hinders the first enemy hit.

  • Ultimate: Kekkai Sanctuary–Create a sanctuary that heals allies and absorbs enemy projectiles from outside the area.

  • Passive: Remedy Aura–Heals nearby allies. Healing scales with resources generated by dealing damage and healing.

Talon may have some grueling new names helping them in the fight, but these two new names in the opposition are just as inti-mew-dating.

Anran–Damage

Anran's Hero Trial will be available in Overwatch on 5 February (Image: Blizzard).

Anran is the older sister of Wuyan, and is determined to keep her brother out of trouble. A classic heroic protagonist, her natural resolve and fiery abilities aid her in battle. While players will need to wait until next week to experience most of the new heroes, Anran will be available early through a Hero Trial starting 5 February.

Anran’s abilities:

  • Zhuque Fans (Primary Fire)–Hand fans that launch fiery projectiles.

  • Fan the Flames (Secondary Fire)–A blast of hot wind that amplifies burn damage.

  • Inferno Rush–Propel yourself forward, damaging enemies on impact.

  • Dancing Blaze–Strike nearby enemies while dodging all incoming damage.

  • Ultimate–Vermillion Ascent (Alive)–Charge forward, exploding on impact and instantly igniting enemies.

  • Ultimate: Vermillion Revival (Dead)–Revive yourself in a fiery explosion upon death.

  • Passive: Ignition–Fire-based attacks burn enemies over time.

Jetpack Cat–Support

Long-anticipated Jetpack Cat is set to join Overwatch on 10 February (Image: Blizzard).

Finally, we arrive at the main event of this substantial Overwatch update. After nearly ten years in development, Overwatch is finally bringing the once-cancelled Jetpack Cat to life.

Like a feline, Puss-in-Boots-style rogue, Jetpack Cat remains mostly mysterious beyond her lethal combat prowess, lightning-fast reflexes, and versatile support kit–sprinkled with plenty of cat-themed innuendos.

Jetpack Cat’s abilities:

  • Biotic Pawjectiles (Primary Fire)–Mid-range projectile spread that heals allies and damages enemies.

  • Lifeline–Toggle into transport mode, allowing an ally to be towed. Increases movement speed and heals the ally.

  • Frenetic Flight–Accelerate in your movement direction. Fuel recovery is slower while carrying another player.

  • Purr–A pulsing area heal that increases in frequency over time. Activating it also knocks back nearby enemies.

  • Ultimate: Catnapper–Dive towards a ground location, knocking down enemies and tethering the nearest one to you.

  • Passive: Jetpack–Permanent flight.

All five upcoming heroes will arrive on 10 February, alongside the launch of an overhauled Overwatch. The rest of the upcoming hero line-up for 2026 has yet to be revealed.
