Reigns: The Witcher will let you choose how Geralt dies.
Nerial and Devolver Digital are teaming up with CD Projekt RED for a new, and somewhat atypical, Witcher adventure. The upcoming video game, Reigns: The Witcher, casts players as Geralt of Rivia’s constant companion and bard Dandelion, who composes a series of stories starring the titular witcher.

The next Witcher game is not, in fact, The Witcher IV. Reigns developer Nerial is developing a Witcher-angled take on its card-based game franchise, entitled Reigns: The Witcher, launching next month. The titular witcher, Geralt of Rivia, will star in the game, as he gets thrown into a series of strange adventures shaped by the bard Dandelion.
Just like in Nerial’s original Reigns game, players will be drawing cards and swiping left and right on NPC interactions to make decisions, influencing the path Geralt takes in Dandelion’s many stories. Players will also have to frequently engage in combat as the witcher, tapping the screen to help Geralt avoid damage icons on the screen.
The key is to engage Dandelion’s audience by making the story as exciting as possible, making choices that garner applause, and thus, allow the player to level up. However, some of these choices will have consequences, and many of the consequences are the same: Geralt will die, in a series of increasingly ludicrous ways.
This will be the sixth game in the Reigns franchise, and the second IP collaboration for developer Nerial, following Reigns: Game of Thrones, which followed a similar formula in the setting of Westeros.
The Witcher IV this is not, but it should whet the appetites of nostalgic fans of The Witcher nonetheless, as the game is also set to include familiar faces like Yennefer, Triss, and Vesemir. CD Projekt RED’s highly-anticipated Ciri-centred Witcher sequel still lacks a release date, while rumours swirl of an incoming expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Reigns: The Witcher launches on 26 February, 2026.
