Terraria is getting a big new patch later this month.
Game developer Re-Logic has officially confirmed a release date for Terraria’s next content update: 27 January, 2026. The game’s long-awaited 1.4.5 patch was recently delayed from a December 2025 release window, but players can now expect the update to arrive in a mere few weeks.
Despite seemingly being a small patch, however, this update houses a breadth of new items and changes–ranging from a summonable Digtoise from Palworld, to even more weapons and furniture sets to play around with.
Terraria 1.4.5 is officially launching later this month
If you’ve been itching for another playthrough of Terraria, you might want to hold off for a few more weeks. The game’s first big patch in four years, Version 1.4.5, is now being readied for release on 27 January, 2026.
Terraria’s last content update was Version 1.4.4, released on 28 September, 2022. The patch was followed by a series of small bug fix-focused patches throughout the year, ending with the release of Version 1.4.4.9 on 17 November, 2022. This marks the first time developer Re-Logic has released an update for the game since then.
Those unfamiliar with Terraria’s recent 1.4.5 teases might be under the impression that this is just another small patch–but that is far from the case. A list of new additions, changes, and fixes teased by Terraria developers have been painstakingly catalogued on the Terraria wiki page, and the size of it is staggering, to say the least.
So, what can players expect in Terraria 1.4.5? For starters, they can expect several new weapons including whips and Dead Cells-themed crossover weapons for all damage types. Additionally, more furniture sets, transformation mounts, paintings, accessories, vanity sets, gadgets, and potions have all been confirmed for release in this patch.
A Digtoise from Palworld is also coming to the game, following up on the recent Palworld x Terraria crossover, though more crossover items from the survival game might also be in the works. It should be noted that the wiki has thus far only documented upcoming additions that the developers have officially revealed. There are bound to be more content additions or changes only to be revealed upon this patch’s official release.
