Street Fighter movie adaptation debuts first trailer
Capcom had back-to-back announcements to drop during The Game Awards 2025. First up, the game publisher officially revealed Leon S. Kennedy as Resident Evil Requiem’s second playable character. After that, it showed off a surprising first look at its upcoming Street Fighter movie adaptation.
The movie teaser doesn’t give away much of its plot, but we did get a good look at its schlocky 90s tone and grindhouse aesthetics. It looks like the movie is sticking to a cheesy but authentic feel in adapting a notoriously unserious video game franchise, with classic-looking outfits for its entire main cast.
Here’s the movie’s logline:
“Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!”
Street Fighter hits theatres on 16 October, 2026.
