Call of Duty Black Ops 7 will not have early access, as Activision shuts down rumours

The next chapter in the Black Ops series is almost here, but players hoping to jump in early will have to wait until launch day.

Call of Duty fans can rest easy knowing exactly when they will be able to drop into the action. Despite growing chatter online over the weekend, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not receive any form of early access before its global release on 14 November.

The confusion began after Forbes published an article stating that the US$100 Vault Edition of the game would grant players 72 hours of early access, starting from 11 November. The claim spread quickly across social media, as players assumed that purchasing the premium version would allow them to play the new Black Ops title three days early. However, the story has since been corrected.

Activision clears up the confusion

Following a conversation with Activision representatives, Forbes updated its piece to ensure accuracy, and removed all references to early access. The publisher then reached out to CharlieIntel to confirm that no edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 offers early access. The game will officially launch on the same day for everyone, regardless of platform or edition purchased.

A spokesperson for Activision also reiterated to GamesRadar that the release date remains 14 November, with no changes planned. The publisher also clarified that there will be no additional access period beyond the open beta, which concluded last month. This confirmation puts to rest the wave of speculation surrounding potential early availability.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will release simultaneously on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Players can expect the same day-one experience across all platforms, eliminating any advantages tied to specific versions.

The upcoming entry in the Black Ops series is shaping up to deliver another round of high-stakes action, featuring large-scale combat, mechs, and Goliath-class enemies as seen in recent trailers. With Activision confirming that everyone will jump in at the same time, anticipation now turns to how Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will follow up on the success of previous instalments, when it officially launches this November.
