Path of Exile’s Keeper of the Flame expansion drops this Halloween
Path of Exile is dropping its first-ever sequel league next week. On 31 October, Path of Exile is breathing new life into its Breach league with the Keeper of the Flame expansion. In this new content drop, players will meet Ailith, the founder of a monastic order meant to defend Wraeclast from invading Breachlords, called the Keepers of the Flame.
Players will have to battle the Breachlords while protecting Ailith, as these entities threaten to infest Wraeclast. They’ll also have to deal with Vruun, Marshal of Xesht, to permanently seal dangerous Unstable Breaches–or head into the endgame areas, where Breach Hives are popping up with Breach Monsters.
Cutting down Breaches also offers benefits for players via the Genesis Tree, which sprouts additional limbs as players progress. These limbs offer key upgrades for currency, equipment, uniques, and grafts. Grafts are an all-new enhancement option for players, allowing them to embed new skills or defenses directly into their characters. There are 16 grafts for players to mix and match.
More gameplay additions in Keepers of the Flame
Keepers of the Flame also adds new Skill and Support Gems, along with Bloodline Ascendancies. Bloodline Ascendancies can be unlocked by defeating specific endgame bosses on a character-by-character basis, with 10 Bloodline Classes to uncover.
There are also three new Uber Incarnation bossfights to take on, though players will first need fragments dropped by Tier 17 map bosses to access them.
New quality-of-life features in Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame
Path of Exile is also adding a highly-requested feature from Path of Exile 2: Fully Asynchronous Trade. Players will get access to the feature after they reach Act 6, at which point they can find Faustus to start trading items with other users even when offline.
Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame also adds a series of quality-of-life features, including the ability to refund the Atlas Passive tree and regular Passive Skill Tree with Gold. Heist Rogues will also immediately begin at maximum level, and players can swap and use an Augmentation Orb when using Alteration Orbs.
40 new challenges are also coming to the Keepers Challenge League, allowing players to unlock the Keeper of the Flame Armour Set.
Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame launches on 31 October, 2025. You can find more details on the expansion here.
