The live-action Street Fighter movie has cast its Chun-Li

Legendary Entertainment’s Street Fighter movie has begun casting.

Legendary Entertainment’s upcoming Street Fighter movie adaptation is taking shape, at long last. The movie has reportedly cast Callina Liang as the iconic martial artist Chun-Li, according to Deadline. Liang will join Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck, all of whom were previously announced as cast members–though their exact roles are still unknown.

The live-action Street Fighter movie begins to take shape

Legendary Entertainment is moving full steam ahead with the production of its live-action Street Fighter movie, which it gained the rights to make back in 2023. The movie eventually announced to be directed by Bring Her Back and Talk to Me directors Danny and Michael Philippou. However, the duo later exited the movie due to scheduling conflicts, and were replaced by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip).

Currently, the movie adaptation appears to be picking out its cast members before heading into full production. This week, it was reported that Callina Liang, the lead of Steven Soderbergh’s paranormal thriller Presence, had been selected to play the legendary martial artist Chun-Li. Previously, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck were also said to have joined the cast in unknown roles.

However, a few leaks from known Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider may have connected these actors to their actual roles. Take these rumours with a grain of salt, but according to Sneider, Roman Reigns is set to play Akuma, Andrew Koji will play Ryu, and Noah Centineo will play Ken Masters. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit, Jason Momoa is set to play Blanka.

However, Legendary has not made any official comment on the cast of its Street Fighter movie, so we’ll just have to wait and see if there's any truth to these rumours, for now. The movie does not have a release date yet. Street Fighter 6, on the other hand, is now ramping up for a collaboration with the K-pop group aespa.
