Silent Hill f sets September release date in gruesome new trailer

Konami has finally revealed a release date for its next Silent Hill game.

This week’s State of Play presentation gave us a release date for the next installment in the seminal survival horror game franchise Silent Hill, Silent Hill f. The game is set in 1960s Japan, departing from the series’ typical American setting. Its story follows a high schooler named Shimizu Hinako, whose hometown becomes engulfed in fog and populated by monsters.

Silent Hill f officially launches this September

Konami has set a release date for Silent Hill f: 25 September, 2025. The game is set in the fictional town of Ebisugaoka, which fans might notice takes the game away from the eponymous SIlent Hill–a fictional American town inspired by Maine, where most games in the Silent Hill franchise are set.

Here, protagonist Shimizu Hinako will fight to survive against nightmarish creatures as the town becomes engulfed in fog, solving puzzles and shaping her fate as she explores this new twisted version of Ebisugaoka. Its haunting imagery can be seen in the above trailer–ranging from human bodies turned into scarecrows, to zombie-like teenagers turned into monsters.

Silent Hill f is set to feature a heavier focus on combat compared to the recent Silent Hill 2 remake, though it does once again give its protagonist an iron pipe to fight with. Seeing as the game is technically a standalone spin-off, previous knowledge of the franchise isn’t required for players to grasp its story.

Silent Hill f launches on 25 September, 2025. For more games showcased in this week’s State of Play presentation, check out our coverage here.
