Elden Ring Nightreign confirms duo expeditions and "enhanced" Nightlord fights

Elden Ring Nightreign is officially adding duo expeditions.

FromSoftware Inc. has made it official: Elden Ring Nightreign is adding duo expeditions in a future update. After much criticism over the unbalanced nature of its solo and three-player game modes, the developer has confirmed that duo squads will soon be able to pair up together in-game.

A mod has already been released for this express purpose, but it looks to be rendered defunct soon.

Elden Ring Nightreign announces future updates

Game developer FromSoftware Inc. has already achieved 3.5 million players for Elden Ring Nightreign, which hasn’t even been out in the wild for a week. The multiplayer game has players team up in squads to take on various bosses and enemies in a world based on Elden Ring’s The Lands Between. Players can also take on its expeditions solo, but they might have a bit more trouble with bosses.

FromSoftware has been criticised for not included a duos mode in the game, but make no mistake: it's well-aware of these complaints. In a recent interview, game director Junya Ishizaki confirmed that the mode was “simply something that was overlooked during development as just a two-player option, so we're very sorry about that.”

He then noted that a two-player mode is “something that we are looking at and considering for post-launch support as well." This week, the developer made good on that promise.

In a social media post, FromSoftware confirmed that “new additions” are coming to the game via post-launch updates, including Duo Expeditions. Additionally, “enhanced fights against existing Nightlords” are coming this month, presumably meant for players who are looking for a higher level of difficulty.

Elden Ring Nightreign was also recently patched to make the solo experience a little easier for players.
