PARIVISION continue perfect start in Dota 2 Esports World Cup while five teams get eliminated

L1GA TEAM, Level UP, Team Nemesis, REKONIX, and IC x Insanity were eliminated in day four of the Dota 2 EWC Group Stage.

Day four of the Dota 2 Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 saw tournament favourites PARIVISION continue their perfect run in the Group Stage and maintain their dominance over Group C. Meanwhile, five teams have already been eliminated from the tournament, namely  L1GA TEAM and Level UP from Group B, Team Nemesis and REKONIX from Group C, and IC x Insanity from Group D.

Team Falcons remain in the lead in Group A while Nigma Galaxy and Aurora Gaming are still in a deadlock over the top spot of Group B. Over in Group D, 1w Team have been dealt their first loss by OG, leaving the former tied with Team Yandex for the top seed of their group.

The final set of matches for all four groups will be played across the next two days. Groups A and B are up first in day five while Groups C and D will play their deciding matches to close out the Group Stage.

Read on as break down all of the action in day four of the Dota 2 EWC Group Stage:

Falcons extend their lead in Group A

Falcons still sit comfortably in the top spot of Group A, having improved their record to 7-1 by making short work of Poor Rangers in day four. They are still not guaranteed a spot in the Playoffs, however, as they still have to face Xtreme Gaming in their final match of the Group Stage in day five. Falcons will need to sweep Xtreme to secure a direct berth to the Playoffs.

BetBoom Team stand as Falcons' biggest threat, having solidified their hold over the second seed with a 2-0 sweep over Xtreme. BetBoom will face GamerLegion in their day five, with a 2-0 win there giving the former their best shot at usurping Falcons for the top seed. It will be easier said than done for BetBoom, however, if their surprising 1-1 draw with Rune Eaters Esports in day three is anything to go by.

That leaves the last two spots in the Survival Stage for the group up for grabs between Xtreme, GamerLegion, and Rune Eaters. Both Xtreme and GamerLegion are in a precarious position, as they will be facing strong opponents and need to at least avoid getting swept if they hope to make it to the Survival Stage.

Riune Eaters, on the other hand, are in an advantageous position as they will be facing the group's bottom feeder in Poor Rangers, who have only managed a 1-7 record so far. If Rune Eaters sweep that series while Xtreme and GamerLegion both get swept, then Xtreme and Rune Eaters will advance to the next stage.

Aurora and Nigma Galaxy stay tied in Group B, L1GA TEAM and Level UP eliminated

Group B saw the first two teams get mathematically eliminated from the tournament, all while Aurora and Nigma Galaxy remain in a deadlock over the top spot in the group for the fourth straight day now. L1GA and Level UP were knocked out after getting swept by Team Liquid and Nigma Galaxy, respectively. Meanwhile, Aurora swept PlayTime, who are now guaranteed to advance to the Survival Stage.

As a result of the day four matches, Aurora and Nigma Galaxy both head into day five tied at 7-1. With both squads having already played their matchup to a 1-1 draw, then the outcome of their final matches of the Group Stage will decide who will advance directly to the Playoffs.

Nigma Galaxy are in prime position to finish as the top seed, as they will be taking on an easier opponent in PlayTime. Meanwhile, Aurora have a more difficult opponent in Liquid. Nigma Galaxy are hoping that Liquid can hand Aurora at least one loss, though sweeping PlayTime will still be easier said than done for them regardless.

PARIVISION remain perfect in Group C as Nemesis and REKONIX are knocked out

Over in Group C, PARIVISION became the only team to maintain a perfect record in the Group Stage through day four. They made short work of MOUZ and are now all but guaranteed to advance directly to the Playoffs. PARIVISION will have to wait a day before they play their final match of the Group Stage against Team Spirit, as the final set of matches for Groups C and D will take place a day after those for Groups A and B.

Speaking of Spirit, they kept themselves within striking distance of PARIVISION by sweeping REKONIX to improve their record to 7-1. Spirit need to sweep PARIVISION in their upcoming match if they want to steal away the top seed, any other result will mean they have to play in the Survival Stage instead.

But while the Top 2 spots in Group C are still up in the air, the rest of the standings have already been decided. Vici Gaming (VG) and MOUZ are locked in as the third and fourth seeds, respectively, with 4-4 records apiece after day four. Meanwhile, Nemesis and REKONIX have already been mathematically eliminated.

1w and Yandex tie for the top spot, IC x Insanity get eliminated

While 1w have maintained a perfect record through the first three days of the Group Stage, that streak came to an end in day four as they were forced to a 1-1 draw by OG. Meanwhile, Yandex swept LGD Gaming to improve their record to 7-1. As a result, 1w and Yandex are now tied for the top seed of Group D with 7-1 records apiece. Both squads are set to face off in the final day of the Group Stage, with the team scoring a 2-0 sweep advancing directly to the Playoffs.

OG's 1-1 draw with 1w gives them a 4-4 record and crucial breathing room in the battle for the two spots in the Survival Stage. Sitting behind them are LGD and Virtus.pro (VP), who both have 3-5 records. LGD are likely to improve their standing to 5-5 as their final Group Stage match will be against the winless IC x Insanity, who have already been eliminated.

Meanwhile, OG and VP will face off in a pivotal match. OG need to score at least one win against VP to guarantee themselves a spot in the Survival Stage. If VP somehow sweep the series, then they will be the ones advancing. In such a scenario, OG's only hope is that IC x Insanity somehow scored a win against LGD, which will lead to a tiebreaker for the final spot in the Survival Stage.

Here are all the results for day four of the Dota 2 EWC Group Stage:

What is the Dota 2 Esports World Cup?

The Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup 2026 will be the last Tier 1 tournament of the 2025-2026 competitive Dota 2 season, before it culminates in The International 2026 in August. With many of the teams competing in the EWC also qualified for this year's Dota 2 world championship tournament, it should serve as a good preview for the battle for the Aegis of Champions next month.

The Dota 2 EWC features 24 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world and will take place from 7 to 19 July in the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France. The teams will be fighting for EWC glory and the lion's share of US$750,000, out of the tournament's US$25 million prize pool.

The Dota 2 EWC is split into three stages; the Group Stage from 7 to 12 July, the Survival Stage from 14 to 15 July, and the Playoffs from 16 to 19 July.

The Group Stage will see the 24 teams split into four groups of six teams each to play in a single round-robin with best-of-two matches. The top team from each group will advance directly to the Playoffs, the second to fourth-placed teams will move to the Survival Stage, while the two bottom finishers will be among the first to be eliminated.

The Survival Stage will feature the 12 teams that finished third to fourth in their respective groups during the Group Stage, with four spots in the Playoffs up for grabs in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. The Survival Stage will open with the third and fourth seeds from different groups taking each other on, with the winners moving on to face the second place teams for the four Playoff spots.

Finally, the Playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket featuring the four teams that finished as the top seeds of their groups in the Group Stage, as well as the four teams that made it out of the Survival Stage. All matches in the Playoffs will be a best-of-three except for the grand finals, which will be a full best-of-five series.
