New year, new carry.
As the new year approaches, fan-favorite team
Nigma Galaxy have made a roster change, bidding farewell to their carry player Aybek “TA2000” Tokayev less than two months after he joined the lineup.
Nigma Galaxy shared a brief announcement across its social media:
“Today we part ways with TA2K. Thank you for your dedication during your time with us.”
TA2000 wraps up a brief, lackluster stint with Nigma Galaxy
The roster change follows a disappointing end-of-year run for Nigma Galaxy. Since parting ways with Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong during the off-season in November, the team has struggled to replicate the form that earned them an impressive Top 6 finish at The International 2025.
Few days after Ghost’s departure, TA2000 stepped in on loan from
Team Yandex, but under the Middle Eastern banner, he failed to yield strong results, bowing out at 12th–14th place at PGL Wallachia Season 6. The poor performance continued despite the return of their established support Maroun “GH” Merhej ahead of DreamLeague Season 27, where the team exited in 9th–16th place.
Now out of the lineup, it remains unclear where the Kazakhstani carry player will head next. Having competed since 2017 with a number of notable teams–including
PSG Quest,
Aurora Gaming, and Team Yandex–TA2000 is likely to find another respectable home in the near future.
Nigma Galaxy to announce a new carry player
With the vacancy on the prominent team, speculation surrounding Nigma Galaxy’s next carry has reignited. Many fans expect Ghost to return, as he has remained teamless since his departure and previously developed strong chemistry with the roster.
Others are hopeful for the return of star player Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi, who has been on the team’s bench since stepping away earlier this year due to health issues. However, no official confirmation has been made.
Nigma Galaxy is expected to announce their new carry player soon, with the BLAST Slam VI qualifiers for Europe set to begin on 2 January 2026.
