Quincy Crew take down TSM.FTX to force the NA DPC into a three way tiebreaker

Quincy Crew defeated TSM.FTX 2-1 to force the NA DPC League into a three way tiebreaker to decide who goes to the ESL One Stockholm Major.

The North American DPC League has a history of going to tiebreakers, and this season will be no different. TSM.FTX had the chance to top the league after defeating Evil Geniuses last week, but Quincy Crew had other plans. The winners of the NA DPC Winter Tour took down TSM to force Division I of the NA DPC League into a three way tie between the holy trinity of North American Dota 2. The top two teams emerging from the tiebreaker will travel to Stockholm to play in the ESL One Major.

TSM won the North American Regional Finals after the first DPC was cancelled. They followed that up with a flawless run till the last day of the NA DPC League, until they met Quincy Crew. It was a do or die situation for Quincy Crew, because if they had lost, it would have meant the end of their season.

Game 1 was a hard fought battle up to a point in the game, but once TSM’s Huskar hit critical mass, it started to tip in their favor. After TSM got the second Roshan, Quincy Crew had no answers to the Huskar and lost the game in just over 42 minutes.

Looking at TSM’s form and their performance in game 1, a betting man would have put his money on them to take the series 2-0. But a completely different Quincy Crew showed up to game 2 and game 3! In both games, Quinn “Quinn” Callahan was on the top of his game and led the charge against TSM. Game 2 was a completely one sided affair, and even though TSM showed some signs of life in game 3, they were never in a commanding position.

To end the NA DPC League Division I, Evil Geniuses had the small task of getting past Team DogChamp to ensure their entry into the tiebreaker. DogChamp were fighting to stay up in Division I, and they put EG to the test in game 1. But eventually, EG’s experience prevailed and the NA powerhouse sent DogChamp spiraling back to Division II by defeating them 2-0.

The three NA teams will fight it out in tiebreakers, and the top two from that will have the honor of representing North America at the Stockholm Major. The NA Dota 2 scene is getting more competitive by the year, which promises to make the tiebreakers an enthralling experience.
