Ninjas in Pyjamas have picked up a new roster to compete under the Swedish organization's banner. for at least the remainder of the DPC 2019-2020 season.
Earlier this week, Ninjas in Pyjamas bid farewell to Peter ‘PPD’ Dager after 1.5 years. PPD's retirement marked the departure of the last original member of NiP's DPC 2019-2020 season roster and left the team with only three active members.
Instead of building around what they had, NiP decided to pick up an already existing and complete roster.
The team, previously known as Chicken Fighters, most recently took an unexpected and impressive fourth-place finish at ESL One Los Angeles Online. Since almost the start of the DPC 2019-2020 season, the team has been carving out a place in the EU competitive scene.
It’s been an ongoing process finding the right way to structure the new team, evaluating and optimising our own internal setup in the process. Sometimes when you get a clear overview, opportunities present themselves at perfect times.
The whole roster of Chicken Fighters are a great group of young players, with a perfect combination of hunger, talent, experience and a high willingness to learn. I couldn’t be more excited that they want to become part of the Ninjas in Pyjamas team, where I am sure we’ll be able to accomplish great things together.

Adrian "Era" Kryeziu is the most recent addition to the team, joining just earlier this month. He played with NiP back in 2015 for about one year. Charlie "CharlieDota" Arat became part of the roster at the start of 2020 but Ondřej "Supream^" Štarha, Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek and Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev have been competing together since the formation of the team in November 2019.
Fans will get to see the new team playing under the NiP banner this week with the start of the WePlay! Pushka League Season 1.
