Gambit eliminated from WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020

In the wee hours of the morning, after 15 hours of Dota 2, Gambit was eliminated from WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020.

The day began at 13:00 CET in Ukraine for the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. Gambit, who had probably savored the extra sleep time, kicked the playoffs off. They also ultimately ended the day at almost 05:00 CET.

The CIS team continues to show promise and flashes of brilliance, but still have more to work on, including keeping cool, level heads and tightening up as a team. They seem to run hot and cold under pressure, but a fourth-place finish at the Minor adds 90 DPC points to their pockets and keeps them locked into the top 15.

After falling to Geek Fam in the upper brackets, a 2:0 sweep that Gambit could have potentially locked in at least one win, if not two, they were forced to go toe-to-toe with Nigma esports in the elimination series. They managed to really stand out in the first game with some flawless execution and a thrilling upset. Unfortunately, in a reverse sweep, Nigma trampled over Gambit as the pressure mounted.

The action will resume at 14:00 CET on Sunday, January 12th with the lower bracket finals before heading into the best-of-five grand finals.

*Since the minor winner also gets to participate in the major, they will only get points for the event in which they placed better (e.g: If they place last in the major, they will only get 140 points for winning the minor. If they place 8th instead, they'd get the 450 points for the major but not the 140 points from the minor)

WePlay! Bukovel Minor

Between January 9-12th, eight teams determined via qualifiers are battling it out in Bukovel, Ukraine for the lion's share of the $300,000 prize pool and 660 DPC points as well as the highly coveted spot at the DreamLeague Season 13 Leipzig Major taking place in Leipzig, Germany January 18-26th.

Can Gambit improve over the season to secure enough points for a TI2020 invite?
