StarLadder announced the full list of participants in the Southeast Asian, Chinese and North American qualifiers along with a last minute third place decider for the SA spot.
South American qualifiers for StarLadder i-League Invitational; Season 4 Minor finished in mid-December with SG e-sports claiming the spot to the LAN event over paiN Gaming. However, both finalists decided to drop out of the tournament to participate in the WESG SA qualifiers instead. While the SL i-League invitational 4 Minor has $300,000 prize pool, WESG seems to be much more appealing with its $1,500,000 prize pool and $37,500 for the SA qualifiers only. Both SG e-sports and paiN have a decent chance to qualify for WESG Global Grand Finals as only six teams are going to fight for the three spot available in the main event.
In the meantime, Sacred and Infamous, who got eliminated in the SL i-League Invitational season 4 SA qualifiers semifinals, will play a third place decider series tomorrow, January 5 at 23:00 CEST. Winners will secure a spot in the 300 TI8 qualifying points and $300, 000 prize pool Minor.
Besides the SA decider match, three other regions will enter the race for a qualifying spot. Southeast Asian qualifiers will kick off on the 8th of January with all the region favorites fighting for the one spot available.
Qualifiers for the North American teams will commence on the same day and it will be the first time we get to see at work the revamped rosters of Immortals, OpTic Gaming and VGJ Storm.
Chinese qualifiers will begin a day later, on the 9th of January and will mark the first competitive matches for the new LGD Gaming line-up.
StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4 LAN event will be hosted in China, February 1-4. Team Liquid and Newbee received the only two direct invites to the event while Team Kinguin won the European qualifiers and Team Empire emerged victorious in the CIS qualifiers.
