Team Empire and Penta snatch spots for ROG Masters LAN main event

Team Empire and Penta were the last two teams standing for the ROG Masters EMEA finals. Both teams will pack their bags for the main event set for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia December 7th – 10th.

The ROG Masters 2017 EMEA LAN qualifiers had kicked off several months ago - back in June 2017 with national qualifiers with teams from all over the European, Middle East and African region competing. There was a total of 11 open qualifiers for selected countries in the covering region - Germany, France, Poland, Russia, Spain, Nordic, UK, UAE, Romania, Benelux, Portugal, and only qualifier that allowed mixed teams or squads from non represented countries.

The 12 winners then advanced to the online playoffs, competing for one spot allocated to the ROG Masters 2019 EMEA LAN. Team Kinguin had defeated Tuho, the open qualifier champion, to claim their spot. Joining them were seven other directly invited teams that had a strong presence in the new season during the ProCircuit regional qualifiers.

Representing the CIS region, Team Empire, Vega Squadron and Double Dimension were on hand, along with HellRaisers, Penta, SFT-e and Helsinki REDS for Europe.

In an intimate and condensed two day LAN event at theTakeTV studios in Krefeld, Germany the teams went head to head in a single elimination format for one of two coveted ROG Masters Main Event spots where 6 teams (APAC 2 teams, EMEA 2 teams, AMERICAS 1 team, CHINA 1 team) will be fighting for a piece of the $235,000 prize pool.

This is the second LAN event that Team Empire has recently qualified for. Only four days ago the CIS team had claimed their spot in the WCA 2017 LAN event scheduled to take place this December in China.

For Penta, this is a big step for the team to set themselves up as a real contender in the new ProCircuit season.
