The International 2017 prize pool breaks the $5,000,000 milestone

Just a single day after the Battle Pass release, The International 2017 prize pool has breached the $5,000,000 barrier.

Last year, at TI6, we saw the biggest prize pool ever to come out of e-sports, with over $20,000,000 in total prize money. With The International 2017 approaching quickly, and the prize pool for this year’s event is already climbing faster than it did in previous years. At the time of writing, the prize pool for TI7 has broken through the $5,000,000 threshold and is set to break all records.

It took a mere two days for this point to be reached when the TI6 Battle Pass was released last year, whereas the TI7 prize pool has risen to this level in a only one day – setting up what could turn out to be a new record in the e-sports industry. Dota 2’s prize pool tracker shows that this year’s Battle Pass sales are around half a million dollars ahead of last years at the same time.

Even with this early spike, we still have a long road ahead of us to TI7 and the prize pool could be gigantic at this rate. The Battle Pass is assured to give you hours of content with many amazing features which you can see here – along with contributing to the prize pool.
