No stopping the OG train; Team Faceless knocked out

With no signs of slowing down, the OG train is blasting foward full speed ahead as they knock Team Faceless out 2:1 in the quarter finals of the Kiev Major.

Team Faceless' upset against their SEA brethren, TnC yesterday, unexpectedly pitted the Singaporean based team against OG in the quarter finals. The SEA team have proven they are the sort to scrap till the end, fighting with unwavering determination. This series was no different, as they put forth a valiant effort to stay alive.

OG are well versed in the ways of championship titles and secrets needed to excel. Victories - especially at Majors have become commonplace and their sterling performances lately have not given any indication that their presence and journey at the Kiev Major would tell a different story.

OG continue to the semi finals with their eyes set on bagging yet another Valve Major event.

Team Faceless will claim their $125,000 prize for their spectacular showing at the Kiev Major.

Game One

OG were able to secure their comfort picks so it was no surprise they were able to land first blood. Team Faceless however, have proved over and over again they are not to be underestimated and Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier was even displaying impressive farming efficiency on his Slark early on to take the lead.

Slow and steady Faceless whittled away their lead through pick offs, fights, farming and pushing. Physical damage from Team Faceless began to become too much for OG to contend with and fights started to look like a piece of cake for the SEA team. With a whopping beat down, Team Faceless closed out the game in only 28 minutes.

Game Two

A strong start for OG in the second game proves the Dream Green team are not ones to lose focus or confidence. More than familiar with the lower brackets and high intensity stress - OG charged out of the gates like a bat out of hell.

In stark contrast to the last match, OG were on fire - their positioning, rotations and overall pressure quickly forced Team Faceless into a submissive role. Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka's Pudge hooks were on point and combined with Tal "Fly" Aizik on Disruptor the support duo became a monster to contend with.

Anathan "ana" Pham achieved a 'beyond God-like' streak by 24 minutes into the game - a true testament for the devestating onslaught that OG had unleashed. Running away with the lead, OG barrelled through Team Faceless. A five man wipe in base just over 30 minutes of play ended the stomp and forced the deciding third match.

Game Three

OG started with an aggro-tri lane but the early game was relatively even. OG were squeaking by with successful team fights but Team Faceless were able to counter with great rotations and positioning. With everything on the line both teams were clearly giving it their all and back and forth they went.

Johan "N0tail" Sundstein's Naga Siren was famously on display. Once again he was the center of attention for OG, setting up fights, providing great escapes and becoming a menace for Team Faceless to deal with. Along with the army of illusions in cohoots with the illusions from TerrorBlade, Team Faceless was playing against the odds in the team fights.

A great high ground defense from Team Faceless was able to only delay the inevitable. The team was unable to do enough damage to prevent OG from surging forward for too long and the Europeans overwhelmed the SEA team for the game and series.

The quarter finals action continues between VGJ vs Virtus.Pro at 16:00 CEST. One more team will be eliminated while one more team inches towards the grand finals.
