BTS Series EU #4: Virtus.Pro succeeds Liquid as champions

Virtus.Pro are the newest BTS Series EU winners after their 2-1 victory over Elements Pro Gaming. Finishing in 3rd-4th place are Vega and FRIENDS.

As the winners of the BTS Series EU #4, Virtus.Pro will be taking home the largest stake of the $5000 prize pool. Virtus.Pro's journey to claiming first place was the hardest among the four teams who made it to the playoffs, having had to play tie breakers in the group stage to make it there. After reaching the playoffs, VP eliminated FRIENDS with ease and proceeded to play a close 2-1 series against Elements.

Game one:

Opening their draft with Huskar and Oracle, followed by a Omni-Knight later on, Elements committed to a strong snowballing line-up. With their line-up working as intended, Elements had a strong grip over the early and middle game and was knocking on VP's barracks at the 17 minute mark. However, this marked a turning point for VP as they managed to defend their base, negate Elements's lead and turn the game.

Game two:

Reeling from their defeat in the previous game, Elements went for something less adventurous, namely, the Tiny-Io and Sven-Io combo. The tempo of the game ticked in favor the Elements as the low activity game allowed their Tiny and Sven to build some net worth. With Echo Sabres and Blinks, the two cores on Elements destroyed VP and secured a victory for the team.

Game three:

VP won this game slow and steady after both sides decided to not prioritize pushing, preferring to trade kills instead. In terms of kills traded, VP came out with a strong lead as their supports and Puck was able to find multiple kills on the enemy's carries. With a Phantom Assassin and Anti-Mage both having good farm, VP were able to outmanoeuvre and take down Elements.
