Nanyang day 3, who goes home?

The second day of Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 2 has come to a close. No teams have been eliminated just yet but that will all change on day three when four teams in the lower bracket will fight for their tournament lives. Here’s how the brackets have shaken up.

Both Wings Gaming and NewBee have advanced to the upper bracket finals with decisive series victories against CDEC Youth and LGD respectively. These two teams will go head to head on day three to resolve who advances to the Grand Finals and who will have to navigate their way there through the lower bracket. Before that, two teams need to go home.

Day three commences with the threat of elimination looming. The first series begins at 05:00 CEST and includes Digital Chaos and Team Empire. DC and Empire both fell victim to sluggish starts to the tournament. Following the upset against CDEC Youth, DC will need to rally back with a vengeance if they want to remain in this event. Empire gets the benefit of the doubt having faced a very ardent Wings roster, but the duo will need to step up their game if either of them wishes to reach the final day.

The second elimination series will be between WarriorsGaming.Unity and Vici Gaming Reborn. Vici Gaming Reborn are the only team in the lower bracket to have taken a game off those that exiled them there, and based on initial performances in the event thus far look like the strongest team in the lower bracket. WarriorsGaming.Unity will compete with a chip on their shoulder and it will be a necessity for them to pull off a series win against a team of Vici Gaming Reborn’s caliber.
