ESL One Frankfurt: The Chinese qualifiers are live

The 12-team single elimination Chinese qualifiers for ESL One Frankfurt have kicked off, and will decide the final team attending the LAN event.

Gunning for a place at the ESL One Frankfurt LAN event on the 18th and 19th of next month, twelve Chinese teams are playing out a best of three single elimination bracket to decide the eighth and final invite to the LAN event. The victor of the bracket's best of five grand finals will be joining the three direct invites, OG, AllianceLiquidFnaticcoLVega, and Na'Vi for a shot at the $250,000 prize pool.

Who are the favorites?

Looking at the bracket, there are multiple strong teams, and among them are recent international LAN event winners Wings (ESL One Manila) and VG.Reborn (SL i-League Invitational). The two teams will be playing an official game for the first time since their respective victories about two weeks ago, and it will be interesting to keep an eye on them to determine if their victory was a one time event or something repeatable.

Other teams to keep a look out for are EHOME and LGD. EHOME will be playing with a stand-in as offlane player; Ren 'eLeVeN' Yang Wei is taking a break from professional Dota due to personal reasons. As for LGD, they have been putting up strong performances, finishing third at the Starladder i-League Invitational and consistently taking games against other Chinese teams.
