The first day of the playoffs of Epicenter: Moscow brought us two upper bracket games.
Another great set of games took place today as the upper bracket showdown began. The teams looked to keep their positions in the upper bracket and not have to navigate the treacherous waters of the lower bracket.

The first series of the day saw Newbee going up against OG. After OG’s strong performances yesterday, they came out strong again, taking the first game of the series but Newbee, also coming off of a very strong start, kept themselves alive in the series. During a sixty-five minute game two, Newbee managed to utilize a tanky line up to overcome OG, who didn’t give up without a fight. The deciding game three was another showing of pure dominance by OG. By sixteen minutes in they had already dropped Newbee’s top rax, consequently taking the series 2-1. This meant that Newbee would be dropped to the lower bracket while OG continue in the upper bracket, awaiting their next challenger.
The second and final series of the day saw Evil Geniuses facing off against Team Liquid. TL went into the series looking really good and gave EG absolutely no chance of keeping their spot in the upper bracket. The first game was barely a contest, with TL rolling over EG with ease. Game two was more of a battle, as EG put up a better fight, but in the end TL forced the GG and dropped EG to the lower bracket.
Tomorrow we'll get to see the start of the lower bracket match-ups and the first teams to be eliminated will come forward.
