With teams going full steam ahead with their preparation for the Shanghai major, there’s no slowing down after that tournament as dates for ESL One Frankfurt have been announced.
June 18th and 19th are the official dates for the tournament taking place, yet again, at the Commerzbank-Arena, in Frankfurt. With a whopping prize pool of $250,000, teams battle out for the proud title of ESL One Frankfurt Champions. We are yet to know who the directly invited teams are and the dates for the qualifiers.
Last year’s ESL provided fans with a festival like tournament where players from around the world travelled to join together and enjoy the game they all know and love. Following the theme of a festival-like gaming tournament, this year there are going to be more than just Dota and fans, with the introduction of Artists’ Alley, which is a standalone booth where attendees will get a chance to meet and interact with designers of some of their favourite in-game items, artwork, and cosplay as well as some other crafts.
So aside from the tournament itself, ESL will be a one of a kind experience for passionate Dota players, and just go all out crazy for their weekend during summer. Will the defending champions be the winners once again? Will teams be hiding their pre-TI6 starts? Or will we see a new champion arise?
